Default IC water spray

I am about to attempt to install a water spray system on my WRX, I was wondering if a headlamp washer timer relay as per

Relay Hella Headlamp Wash Timer Range Rover 005052-00 on eBay (end time 11-Jul-09 03:08:04 BST)

would enable the one press of the switch to give me a timed spray, I presume a headlamp washer timer relay would give 3 or 4 seconds after being powered by the oem switch, anyone have any experience of this type of mod.
