Going down Brinnington hill about 06:10 right up my chuff ? was it you ? as 2 mins later i was stopped rather sharpish by the plod. They did'nt take kindly to to my explanation that i was'nt racing an evo as they thought & infact it was another subaru & to make it crystal clear i was'nt racing any car !! Your reg was'nt passed on but i dont know why i did'nt do it. CHEERS mate !

what so you were infront and by the sounds of it driving above the speed limit - and you think its the person behind you's fault? and that you shouldve passed his reg on? Loads of people drive up people's "chuffs" doesnt mean you have to bite and speed up!

 

You get use to people wanting to race you in a scoob. Just dont bite. If they want to pass you just let them carry on. Not worth risking your licence for

I think the OP is suggesting that the RB320 was plod goading him to speeeding, which im not sure if thats classed as entrapment?

Not how I read it. Why would the RB320 follow dangerously close if it was a police car and then get another police unit to pull you over, accusing them of racing said unmarked police car. I've heard of unmarked police cars goading by following but not dangerously close.

I can see the police buying an STi's, not limited edition models.

 

I also can't see the police buying RBs... There's been no mention of one on the owners club

You haven't said where the RB was when you were stopped but if he'd have gone past you surely the police would have followed him - if he was still behind you then they'd have also stopped him?

 

If the RB was the police he wouldn't be threatening to give his plate out..........

 

Thanks for all your comments people Just to clarify the matter... i was on my way home after a night shift, this loon appears from nowhere & sits so close behind me you could'nt get a rizla paper in the gap... so i think shall i shant i ? only done a couple of miles, so it was'nt warmed up yet... i take a left turn the other fellow carries on, next junction he shoots past in front of me & wallop he's gone.. next the plod appear behind me follow me for a mile or so.. i'm waiting for the lights to pull me over but give them a bit of a run around.. next thing.. a police volvo is blocking my way & the other is behind me.. well nowhere to go .. Jesus it was like kin road wars !!
Made some enquiries & turns out the other fellow is known for his ahem "speed" so there you have it.. cheers people see you on the tunnel run or at chester for the cheque hand over ?

Flamer defo do the trick. Got rid of LOTS of tailgater's with mine on the classic. Best one was a merc vito van, he cut me up so next chance i got past him waited until he was in a hurry again and sent a flame UP his windscreen. that slowed him down.

I hate ppl following to close... one day i will end up damaging the car! but if someone follows to close apply the brakes a bit, i keep doing this until they get the message even if it requires stopping dead in the road :-) There is following close wanting a race and following to close its dangerous.

 

Around North yorkshire the police have unmarked scoobs and they are the ones quite often to get an inch off your bumper to try and get you to speed off. cheap tactic from the police but it works on most boy racers....

 

With my luck the plank behind would hit me, so I just gradually slow, and slow and slow....

Till they get fed-up and go round me, save it for a trackday !
