can anyone tell me how much syntrax gearoil i fill up my gearbox with ? i have put 3 and a half litres as thats what main stealer told me but thought it holds 4 and a half ? it is saying l for low on dipstick but do i check when warm or cold ? any help would be appreciated

 

The service guide I have for the 02 says 3.5 litres for the 5 speed.

The STI guide says 4.1 litres.

Stupid stealers.

WELL i added another half and think theres too much in now,itsgoing way past full mark so i think i need to drain some,anyone else changed gearbox oil in a 6 speed sti 02,bugeye and how much goes in ?

 

All I have done with both engine and gearbox is put in half a litre less than required and check. Then add more and check, repeating until at the required level.
