Default FOUND HOLE IN TUBE! WHAT DOES IT DO?

I was taking out mu TMIC to and noticed a hissing noise from this tube when my arm was resting on it! Took it off and found a small in the tube, what does this tube do and would have been affecting the way the engine has been running lately as I've been have a fault code 22 comming up every now and then?

HOPE THE PHOTO SHOWS UP, NEW TO THE FORUM!!!!!

Can't see the picture (use something like photobucket or imageshack to upload photos).

22 is the knock sensor so i would guess the leak would be causing a problem.

What tube do you mean? the one with the clamps pulled back?
Is that not the coolant to throttle body?

It looks like a coolant bypass gone wrong?
Is that one hose from the manifold with a moved clip linking onto the throttle coolant pipe?

Sorry for the not so helpfull description, its the hose in the middle of the pic - i've moved both of the clips and rested in its original position!
