Hi peeps,

Some friends from Oz told me that the mew STI has the VF35 turbocharger. They reckon it's stamped on the actual turbo. Can any owners confirm this please? I'm talking about the MY02 STI. The MY01 STI has the VF30.

I wish I knew m8. I don't know whether the VF35 is bigger than the VF30 or vice versa. But a couple of guys in OZ that bought the new STI reckon it has VF35 stamped on the turbo. I was wondering if the UK/Euro STI had the same.

There's a post where a couple of the guys have found the new STI a little laggy down low and I'm wondering if the VF35 is a larger turbo, causing this. I could be talking crap ofcourse, but just a thought.

few people, some on this board, have mentioned that the sti7 has suffered bad lag. perhaps the turbo is smaller? However larger number normally indicates larger turbo.

Carolyn's STi7 UK has the VF35 - and no turbo lag....

As far as I recall, the LOWER the number, the bigger the turbo.

 

A smaller turbo generally decreases lag and a larger one increases it.
