Red face Kerbed it - DIY repair?

Hi All - Very gutted to have kerbed my left front wheel (Sti 7 style Gold), what a wonker !

My first thoughts were "gotta get a new one" (no cash) - but I've looked at it in the cold light of day and it looks 'orrible - I hate wheel scuffs, anyhow:

1) Whats best to "flatten" down the "Scuff" with, do I risk sanding etc...

2) Anyone know of a touch up paint closely matching the SUBARU gold colour. (say from Halfords etc).

3) Also I've seen Alloy wheel repair kits there - are they a waste of money?

Thanks -

If your just going to touch them up i would'nt rub them down as this would make the area to be touched up even larger, just go over them with a rag or something to remove the loose paint and build the damadged area up one coat at a time keeping within the damadged area's, if you are going to spray just go over it with 240 grit to remove the worst, then use some can primer, rub that down with 600 wet& dry being carefull not to rub through then spray it with base and lacquer, try to keep it to the outside lip

I was coming out of a 3 point turn on full right hand lock when a curb jumped up !!! my defence is that it was dark and that I had never been down this cul-de-sac before !!! not even going 2 miles an hour, didn't even occur to me that there was one there - as it was between two driveways, hell of a bang too!!the scrapes just look scruffy don't they, gutted !!

Thanks for that - sound like a plan, don't really want to go form a full wheel refurb as hoping to get 18's one day I think what you say will make it look neater again, so I'll have ago at that - prob won't spray but will build it up as you suggested...cheers mate
