As the title says, when driving my classic WRX there's not an awful lot of power low down in the rev range but get it to about 4.5k RPM and all hell breaks loose. Is it right that the power comes in one big chunk?

I've only driven one sccob before which was the 2.5 litre n it didn't do this!

what year classic is it? does it have stainless headers or a large bore up pipe?

 

its a 95 plate, not very tech minded so wouldn't have a clue about the headers or pipe, how could i tell? cheers

more info is needed. What revs can you hear your turbo spool up? Mines in full swing by about 3.25k iirc.

 

Yeah about 3150-3200 for me.

 

From when i had the dump valve fitted it would sound just over 3k revs so no problems there, the car drives fine n smooth apart from when it hits 4.5k when it feels like i've been drop kicked in the chest, im not complaining just wondering if thats how it should be, makes me smile every time!
