Default De-Stickering STaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii =]

Well a young friend of mine called Kenneth turned up round my house a few days ago to give the Subaru a good clean.
We took all four wheels off to give the arches a good scrub and for the wheels to be made minty fresh.
I had a massive urge to start taking the silly rally decals off the Impreza therefore we set out heating the decals up and taking them off.

It took 2 days in total to get them all off and for the marks to be polished out.
One mark on the drivers side was left as the stickers have been on the car for about 5 years therefore one bit of the paint is much thicker than the other. It gives me and Ken an excuse to practice wet sanding and getting the car to a good standard.

Once de stickered we used the 2 bucket method with a pre jetwash.
We clay bar'd the car to remove all dirt then uised a rotary on a few panels to get rid of some swirls.
Ken has great technique with the rotary but I started off and struggled a little and was heating the paint up too quickly. I quickly got to grips with the rotary with Kens assistance and improved my technique rapidly.

We also used a 3 step polish yoonsing some expensive products on the car.

Heres a few before and after pics of the car. I prefer the car de stickered and more subtle with a gleaming paint work.
Hope you enjoy.

Before;

I think everyone is inspired by something when modding and this car is my inspiration. =)
