What tv for xbox 360?
Now I've got the xbox elite, I think its time to get into the flat screen era, any reasonably priced/recommended LCD/Plasma size 26/32/37/40//42 ? and do they all do this 24 frame thing for films?
I have a reasonable 2.1 denon dvd/surround system so image rather than sound is ok.
cheers

Personally I prefer LCD for gaming, so have a Sony 40" 1080p LCD (KDL40V3000).
It can be had fairly cheaply now and can playback at 24fps for movies without conversion nor frame interpolation. Had this set for a year now and am very pleased with it.

I've heard that too, but I find that with a good digital source everything is pixel perfect and pin sharp on my LCD; no smearing or blurring. Sky+ via scart is another matter though
I find plasma a little 'soft' for my tastes as far as gaming is concerned. Horses for courses I guess

If it's purely for gaming, you won't be needing 24p unless you also plan on getting a PS3 for the blu-ray.
Only thing against Plasma for games is screen burn-in, if you're gaming for long periods the HUD may become burned into the screen, although manufacturers have come a long way in alleviating this these days.

yes was hoping to "future proof" with the 24 frame thing, for when blueray discs become more common/cheaper. Its for watching a bit of tv to, but i'm normally only at "home" for a couple of days a week.
just to add is there a "great" difference between 720 p and 1080 p in the normal living room environment as opposed to a "theatre room"

Any views on Samsung ?, found this at richersounds SAMSUNG PS42A457 at Richer Sounds - HI-FI Separates, Home Cinema, Speakers, MP3 DVD Portables, Plasma LCD, etc.
When they released the xbox they demonstrated it on a white Samsung model stating it was ideal to get the best quality.
I have an LG LCD and it is picture perfect and very sharp. Id always go with a 1080p, take a look at Currys as they have some bargains
