Spent an hour or so trying to sort out the cables inside my computer this afternoon.

here is a few before pics, just after i built it:

I found these little sticky pads quite useful, especially for hiding cables under the top off the tower out of site where there is nothing to put your cable ties round:



I know the cables aren't exactley hiden, but they are now neater, opinions welcome.

• Q8200 @ 2.33ghz
• 4gb ocz ram
• 500gb segate hdd
• Powercolor 4830 512mb
• coolermaster 330 elite black

Good use of the pads

One thing: you know when you clipped the cable ties? You should put the blade nearest to the clip so that you don't have those bits sticking out.

I guarantee that at some point you will snag yourself on the sharp bit left.

Anyway - don't always worry about hidden, just make sure that there is plenty of space for air to flow - and you've got that in abundance!

 

air flow was my main concern really, as before all the spares were just shoved in the drive bays at the front, and yeh, the pads are really useful for the few on the top of the case, as i did it all, and then I was like "erm, i need a molex for the rear fan" so just stuck it to the top out of site.

then you can say you cabled it niceley

and whatever i do it still looks like a birds nest..

why are ribbon cables for HDD not twisted like floppy ones were.
