Default Mobile Broadband in Europe?

I'd like to be able to use my Netbook for web access when in Europe; not for vast amounts of time/data but the facility would be very useful.

What options are available to me? Would the cheapest way be to purchase PAYG mobile broadband in each country? Or a roaming service?

PAYG would be the cheapest, otherwise you will hit stupid costs for using other networks out there, unless you can get a good figure for data from your provider (which is doubtful tbh).

Three will let you browse the web on their USB modems while abroad as long as its on one of their sister networks. Other networks don't allow international roming. I looked at a bolt on for on my hols and it was about £50 for a 50mb bolt on which isn't many pages and I think the money would be better spent on an internet cafe and a few beers
