Default Family SUV - Q5 vs XC60

With the family getting bigger now(taller), at some point I'll need to change my S3 for something bigger, i.e. with 4 doors.

I have been looking at the new XC60 vs the Q5. the XC60 especially is a lot of car for the money and very pretty (for a volvo) too.

Anyone had a better look at either?

For the price of a new Q5, you could get a fully loaded second hand Q7.

3.0TDI would be my choice. Not sure if they'll drop this engine in the Q5, but it would fly if they did.

New? I'd go for the Q5. Or theres the cheaper Tiguan.

Yes they do that in the Q5 but it's 36k+ options.

Q7 is far too big for my needs and the Tiguan is just not special enough.

Why the Q5 then, image?

The Q5 IMHO looks better than the Volvo, will probably drive better than the Volvo. It'll be better built than the Volvo, and VAG group range of engines are some of the best. Think the Audi wil hold it value better too.

Fair enough, i do prefer the Volvo to look at but probably agree on the others. only thing is once you start on the options the Audi is 6k more
