Default What temps do exhausts reach

I've been looking on the net at ceramic / thermal coatings and they all say upto 600 upto 1000 etc etc so what temp is the header & downpipe normally reaching?

And what about the turbo ?

Cheers

So those nice coloured ones that go upto 600 just wont cut it. I'd rather go for black or white rated to 1000c just to be sure!

Pants,
It seems that the 600 rating is touch and go, some people have no issues but other have had to have it done again after only 12 months.
Thats the reason that I went down the Zircotec route.
Zircotec high temperature coatings, ceramic coatings, engine, automotive and motorsport, exhaust manifold and header coatings, performance range.

You certainly would not want EGT's to reach 1000degs!!! You may find parts of your turbo in what's left of your heads and combustion chamber.

The question was relating to the temperatures that the pipes reached not the temp of the gasses as the coatings are external.
