Default bypassing the ECU's fan control

i am having trouble with the fans not coming on, on my project RS200 IMPREZA, (look in projects), is there a way i can put in a thermostat sensor so it can make the fans come on, like they used to on older cars, thanks phil.

I would have thought its fairly straight forward. Fit a sensor off something like an old fiesta which is just a temp swicth . wire it to earth a relay and bring the fan on.

If you can find the right place, you can attach the right switch to the outside of a coolant hose. Then you just need a fused connection and feed to the fan(s).

Question: What is the right switch? I dunno, you'd have to take advice on that one... On my old Astra, the switch was a substantial chunk of brass screwed into the rad. Similar may work....

just as i thought, it cant be that hard, its only the earth in the sensor after all. well i have a few more things to try, but if i cant use the original fan plugs, ill get looking under the hood of some fiesta's at the scrap yard for a sensor, thanks very much lads.
phil.
