Clutch Release Bearing - knackered??

How can you tell if your clutch release bearing is knackered

What are your experiences in terms of clutch feel, strange noises, gear changes etc ????

with clutch pedal out, you will get strange noise when the pedal is pressed the noise should change or dissapear
