Default oil change sti

hi there,

i will soon be doing an oil change on my 55 plate subaru wrx sti ppp with about 22,000 on the clock. i was wondering if anyone could shed any light on which oil to use. I've seen in my service book and its states that subaru used shell helix plus 10w - 40. after reading reading previous post it has confused me as there so many variety's to choose from?

so guys tell me which will be best for me!

many thanks

The book will give you a range of options, most service centres will use the standard 10w40 shell semi synthetic, you can also use the shell 5w30 fully synthetic, and if your car is still warrantied i would stick within the guildlines indicated in your handbook for the oil (they may also stipulate a 5w40 oil).
