Default Damn leaking power Steering !

ok its not a major issue but really starting to annoy me, as theres fluid everywhere in the bay and cant see if anything else is causing a dripping or not.

Basically tried replacing the o-ring but its still leaking out. where else is it common for it to come out from?

it seems to be on the pipes, and basically everywhere. is a real slow leak, but cant tell where it is coming from, just that it is definately coming

its the older round cylinder type, any ideas on stopping it

Bound to be either the reservoir/pump/pulley combo that's leaking... or the steering rack! Let's hope the former!

If you know what pump seals, etc. to replace, then do that first as it will prob be the cheapest fix. If it still leaks then how about chancing a replacement pump combo off eBay: subaru steering pump, Cars, Parts Vehicles, Replacement Part, Impreza items at low prices on eBay.co.uk

Could it actually be the reservoir itself?

You could get someone to steer while you look at it to see if where the the ps fluid is coming from.

are there many gaskets etc that you can replace?

its leaking all ver the assembly and definately coming from the reservoir somewhere, as its all round the pump, adn leaking down the cam cover.

can you get new gaskets? also got some 3 bond lying around so could do up existing ones with some.

or if i do take a gamble and get a new one, do i have to get another round cylinder type one, or will the later squarer shaped reservoir type fit

I'd email/PM APIDavid / Mark @ Lateral / harvey / BOB'5 etc for options/info.

I thought the early ones were 'square'... later ones round (my 1993 WRX has the 'square' one).

Whatever you have on your car at the moment, then I'd simply stick with the same style (I think they are interchangeable though ).
