Default TY754VB1CA

I have the above gearbox fitted to my 93 jdm wrx which im led to beleive is from a later type r? Does this mean its a dccd or could it be fitted to std diffs? Its quite quick thru 1st to 4th then 5th feels a bit like an overdrive.....anyone?
