Just picked up my Type r V5 yesterday and have arranged for the mapping to be done by Andy F at the end of Jan. I would like to know if its worth fitting the decat pipe before the map or not bothering with it all? The car feels stupid quick already. If I fit it what should I expect? Lastly, the car has a piper cross panel filter fitted - is this breathing as well as an exposed filter I.e KN cone filter? Advice would be welcome.

 

Hi mate, if you are going to de-cat the car do it before the map so it can be set up correctly, it will allow the turbo to spool up quicker and might give you around 25bhp maybe more with the map. As for the filter i would stay with panel filter something like a hks.

 

standard airbox is best until your over 360 bhp. Get all your bits on before the map then after the map it will be happy days !
