I have managed to install my boost guage in its A-pillar pod, having achieved my 5th dan in professional contortionism in the process

Unfortunately, hooking up the backlight has turned out to be not quite so easy.

I wanted to take the power from the fog light switch bulb, as then the gauge would only be lit when I turn on the headlights, but I cannot get the bottom trim off the dash.

So can someone tell me if I should perservere at trying to get the trim off ? Do I only need to remove the three screws, or do I need to remove more of the dash first ?

Also, I don't really want to cut any existing wires. Is there a way to get the power feed without having to cut any existing wiring ?

Thanks,

Andrew.

Scotch connectors do the trick without cutting wires, sold in Halfords among other places, little blue things quite tricky to descibe. Saying that they are different colours for different sizes but the blues should be about right.

Cool

Hi Ian,

Loving the new car, but I'll be happier once I've got the boost guage back light wired up! Nobles actually had the old car on their website a week ago

Also, the car still has it standard Potenza tyres, and so I am suffering from the dreaded tramlining.

I should have the guage wired up tomorrow, its already installed and working, just no light at the moment. Only too happy to give you a look ...

Catch you later,

Andrew (just call me the tram driver )

Andrew

I would suggest taking the feed for the guage from the dash light illumination circuit. I haven't got a clue what colour the wire is, but mail be at sales@lavenderhillgarage.co.uk and i will try and help. Or call 020 8363 3456. Away for 4 days after tomorrow night.
