Default Centre diff units

Probably a really stupid question but as Im quite new to Subarus thought I'd better ask the question before I make an expensive error,

Are DCCD and viscous centre diff units interchangable? I can find loads of 5 speed DCCD boxes with the ratios I want but really want to run with my current viscous unit so could I unbolt the dccd unit and bolt my viscous unit onto the box in its place?

thanks in advance

Yes you can...there are more differences than just the diff unit, so you'll need a sacrificial one to rob other parts from - although why you would want a 50/50 Vc centre diff instead of the rear biased DCCD is beyond me!

Thanks for that, reason is its a Gp N rally car with non standard front and rear diffs that work exactly how i want them to on gravel so not wanting to alter any of the other bits when I fit the temporary gearbox whilst waiting for the parts for my dog box.
