Question Play on inner cv joint?

Hi all

ive had a similar problem as others with a clonk that happens on full lock every now and then (mostly when i reverse)

I took the car to my dads at the weekend so i could get a second opinion and as sods law the car never made a single sound no matter how many 3 point turns i did
I got underneath the car and couldnt find any problems with the bushes, the only thing i did find was if i was laying on my back and reached up i found some play on both driveshafts as they go into the inner cv joints and also play from the inner cv joints as they go into the diff/gearbox (this was in an up down motion). Should this be expected or have i found a problem,

Thanks if you can help

Just wandering if you are getting any whirring / woo-ing sound coming from the back of the car which is related to what you have mentioned in your first post.

I have slight play in my drivers side inner cv joint input shaft going into the diff. No leak as such, but have up / down play and have a whirring noise.

No noise from the back, the problem i have is at the front of the car i should of been more specific. ive pulled back the rubber boots to check if the joints are dry but they seem fine, (that might be worth a look for you jp), i think i need to take the driveshafts apart to have a proper look.

Hi problem seems to be fixed, i noticed the outside of my front passenger tyre was wearing faster than the rest so i went to my local tyre place and found my tracking was out, since getting that sorted i haven't had a problem.
