you can hire the clothing at the chillfactor
if you have a good berghaus type jacket it will b ok, but you will need some decent trousers(waterproof) if your planning on doing this often then go to TK-MAXX they have skiing wear cheap
chillfactor has the main slope, learner slope, toboggan, childrens play area, and rubber rings area(children) , plus the climbing wall
there is a bar over looking the slope with a terrace out into the cold!!
there also shops , cafes and a weatherspoons pub

Still not boarded there, but visited a few times to look. I keep getting put off from all the rants that appear all over the different snowboard forums about how the lessons and ski team push in on the lifts, and how the lifts never work anyway.

Will wait till the summer when everybody has forgotten about the snow before I go.

I know it's a bit of a drive away, but Xscape near Castleford is good. It's been around a lot longer so the novelty has worn off a bit more, according to a friend in York. We went on a Friday or Saturday night and although the pubs and bars were packed, the slope was quiet.

i've been about 6 times and watched as many, never seen any problems like you've heard

i've watched the lessons and they look poor,
the kids part is always busy!! as is the eateries
but the main slope always seems pretty uncrowded, was there this morning the lifts and main slope were running like clockwork
