im getting some new 17's after christmas the prodrive replica innovates?
im getting tyres with them they come with proxies t1r or parada spec 2 i been told the spec 2 will be better in dry but not in wet and t1r better in wet im not botherd about wear just want the best out of the two.
im gonna try something like eagle f1 or pilots etc after these but might as well use these as they come with them
its for a 99 sti and i will be using all the grip levels the tyres have to offer for fast road use comments please

 

I run T1R's and love them , had the T1S's before but the side wall of the R's is a lot stiffer, so a lot better for track use

If I was to try a different tyre, I would try the Vredestein sessanta's.

I have no knowledge of the spec 2 so cannot even comment, who told you they were better ?

I have been using Toyo's a while now, and in all that time cannot complain. I did a track day at Brands this year and I had bought a set of 17" STi rims with Continental Sport tyres fitted for a very small price ....... I would never run Continental on the road as they were squealing badly around track and caused the car to understeer severely .............. So much so, they kept showing me the 'Tyres' sign

where u buying the rims from mate. i am looking for some p1 looking rims too. Scooby clinic seem to have some ones quite cheap ish.

Tyre wise i got f1's on the front and conti sport 2's on the rear on my focus. They seem to do the job.

Got potenza on the scoob but i think they need replacing for something more track worth.

How do the t1r's stack up on the track?
