Default What is my sick 98 MY classic worth!

I bought a 98 my impreza only seven weeks ago and sadly it has just been diagnosed by a specialist as having a bottom end bearing failure, the potential bill is 2-2.5k, so clearly its not worth doing..as the car only cost £2450

Anyone got any ideas what I might get for the car, which was otherwise very tidy (apart from scuffed alloys)..I had just spent £900 getting the cambelt done, new front tyres, pads and discs on the front and a leak fixed and new airflow meter..Its a real bum! The car has FSH, mostly Subaru and has done 90k miles......two owners before me...

To say Im gutted is an understatement...

Or bite the bullet and have a decent engine built for you. You've only had the car for 7 weeks so you probably haven't been bitten by the modding bug yet, but you will be. If you are happy with the rest of the car, it's a good place to start. Get it built with up-rated parts and it will last you through most of your mods. Good luck with whatever you decide.

If you have the time ans space a tidy classic is worth more breaking than selling on. Its an option...

Hmm. i have around a 3k budget. I suppose i could by your car and put a new engine in it. Then i know id have a decent engine which can take future mods. Best of both worlds perhaps.

What colour is your mota?
