The price varies turbo to turbo depending what is done to them. I have one arriving on Tuesday and it will get a repair kit which includes "bearings" etc. Until it is inspected I dont know if it will need compressor wheel or exhaust wheel and shaft.
ALL turbos are put on a balancing machine after rework.

my mate has a turbo blanket.. he says they help keep the temps at bay .. specially when running a bigger turbo as the heat generating is a lot more..

also can help with spool times

Good to see you again today Harvey and thanks for fitting the uprated headers & up-pipe, initial impressions on the way home is that the turbo spools from 2600 and i'm hitting full boost by 3100 (all in fifth if that makes any difference) which are about 200-300 sooner than the last set and it does feel very strong midrange

Just for anyone that doesn't know this is my spec

STi intercooler
STi injectors

Thanks for that informaiton Ian. I slipped up this morning in that I should have driven your car before the collector and uppipe were changed but when I drove the car after the work was done I have to say I was well impreseed and I know your WRX will be capable of seeing off many STis but unfortunately as I had not driven it prior to the work I had no means of quantifying the difference.
I hope you were able to chill while we were doing the work and I see the maltesers remain unopened, at least until I got in tonight.

Ash : The purpose of a turbo blanket is two fold. Firstly it helps greatly to keep under bonnet temperatures down. Only the exhaust turbine housing is wrapped so that section of the turbo remains hot while the compressor is kept as cool as possible. Keeping under bonnet temperatures down has a number of advantages.
Secondly, just as hot oil flows better than cold oil then hot air flows better than cold air and because the turbo is retaining energy it will spool that bit quicker or achieve best operating temperature quicker when it is thermally insulated than it would do if it were simiply left open to the atmosphere which would also result in very high under bonnet temperatures.
A heat blanket is £80 and it is big enough to do two turbos the size of a 321T or similar. We charge £35 for fitting. It is time consuming and a bit fiddly but it is possible to make a very neat job.

To order a heat blanket the easiest way would be to Paypal me £80 plus £6.50 Royal Mail Special Delivery to harveysmith1@btopenworld.com.
If you prefer I can take internet bank transfer to either Barclays or HSBC or you cold pay cash across any Barclays or HSBC counter and receive the heat blanket next day.
PM or email if you want bank details.

I have just bought a set of your ported Headers & up pipe from a member on here which were on a V7 bug eye STI, will these be O.K for MY98 V4 STI Type R as in the pictures on this thread it looks like there are 2 different size up pipes

I have the up pipe with the threaded hole in it if that helps

My Crazy friend you are welcome. Come back if I can help further.
Alloy radiator and plastic end tanks new is £110 and delivery is £12.50 next day.
Phil. Swap for what??? New but reworked for improved performance, TD05-06 20G with particular power output, graphs available, around £850 but subject to what you want to achieve.
Come back to harveysmith1@btopenworld for a quicker response.

Question

Thread is hanging on by its fingertips...

Harvey, do you offer your porting/polishing and heat-wrapping services for a supplied set of OEM Twin Scroll headers/uppipe? Can you provide a costings breakdown?

I'll also be having a custom GC8-pattern Twin Scroll d/p made up by H&S. How much to wrap it, too?

Cheers
