Default cold crunch

hi there people,

i have wrx 95 jdm gearbox, recently changed box, however now its cold and frost is in the car will not go into gear when cold!!! when its warmed up perfect!!!

what is this? too much oil or wrong kind?? i put in the 75-90w

help appreciated

which 75w90 did you put in ? I had big problems from cold using silkolene and changed it for castrol syntrax. No further problems. The silkolene seemed to have the highest cold viscosity and the syntrax the lowest I could find, but they are similar when warm.

i have a 1994 wrx & replaced the oil quite recently to silkolene & also noticed when cold a slight crunching like the chap says probably worth trying another oil
