Just read the other post on this subject it would seem that your are off the hook Sccoby Doc
As for duplicating no. plates I once had a parking ticket turn up for a Nissan Bluebird that I snapped in half round a tree at 75mph, the only thing was that the ticket turned up 6 months after the car was officially written off. AND I'm in Worcester and the "fake" car was in Croydon........
Scary scary world
And before anyone asks yes it was my first car and yes it hurt (broken neck to be precise but fortunately just bone and not spinal cord or nerve, I walked away) and I had to do my A levels the day after........ muppet

Thanks for tying the two threads Richard. Yes it is scary. The reg. in question was not a subject of a write off merely held by DVLA while my personal plate was on the car.

Worryingly for the new owner of my scooby the plate was put back on the car - so in theory there are two silver wagons with the same plate!! One in Glasgow and one in the Sussex/Hampshire area.

Which one of us is/was the legal one?????????

Martin,

It would appear that somebody has been up to no good.....IN MY NAME. Unless DVLA issued the registration number for 3 weeks only, while I wasnt using it - not very likely is it???? LOL

Offence committed alledgedly by a similar car to mine - have I been cloned???? Never felt a thing!! LOL

We are indeed passionate people in Glasgow. Some people clearly think it is worth the trip.

Where abouts in Glasgow was the parking ticket from - Blythswood Square?
