this might sound like a stupid question but the info isn't on the SIDC FAQ but what exactly is the ppp? is it a new air filter, zorst? as we are thinking of getting a UK300 ppp.

cheers, cause we were wondering whether to sell our my99 standard and look at putting the magnex bb on the new car, jap inovations said they could modify the bb but it seems pointless to pay the extra cash for the ppp and then take it off.

Anybody out there like to post a piccy of their intercooler pipework for the PPP conversion because mine looks awfully std, not Samco type and ally, as suggested. I do have the conversion cert. from the previous owner.

The hose that comes off the Turbo before disapearing under the intercooler should be blue and should have Prodrive written on it!!!!

OK,

The official line is:

1. New (remapped ( )) ECU
2. Samco (esque) intercooler hose and STi Intercooler Y-pipe splitter
3. STi catless straight through centre section exhaust
4. PPP Back Box (exhaust)
5. Different size restricter in the Turbo Nipple pipe

There is currently some debate as to what the difference really is with regards to the ECU as some believe it's just got a higher fuel cut and a higer boost level set. The other parts can (pretty much) be purchased seperately (or equivalents of) and the current discussions on manual boost controllers (Dawes) and home made Fuel Cut defenders can do the same job.

It comes down to how much your warranty is worth to you, how comfortable you are playing with your car and how involved you want to get. For example, it's not inconceivable that you could achieve the same results as a PPP for about £500 but you'd have to do the bits yourself, and be prepared for some playing about to get it right along whilst possibly throwing away your warranty.

You pays your money and you takes your choice......
