I've just fitted a ScoobySport BB and its very close to the rear bumper by about 1-2cm. Is there any chance when the zorst is hot that it could damage the car and if so can you buy one of them metallic sheilds for an Impreza, where from? (I hope I've explained it well enough so you know what I'm on about )

Cheers
Neil.

Neil,

I got my car with some of that sheeting already attached to the rear bumper. Now I don't think the exhaust gets that hot to damage the bumper as such. It did start to come off & look tacky but at that stage if I was to take it off completely it would look a bit odd - two tone. So I got some sticky sided aluminium type tape about 3 inches wide & tokk of the old & put some new stuff on. The tape would be used for high heat boiler areas etc.

I did notice reading some car mags about a year or two ago, some of the ads had a pre-shaped design probably of thicker quality than the tape I used. For the life of me I can't remember the name of the company that do these - they do gear lever surrounds, those stick on fuel lid thingies. You'd probably get a place or two from the likes of max power etc etc. I think one of the places that sold these was motech (not the ECU but car shop). Still a bit sketchy on the info though.

Hope it helps somewhat.

Johny.

The "tune" of the SS is a very very nice tune, with an accompaniment of pops and bangs

Johny - Cheers, Some interesting ideas, have to look into it a bit Thought perhaps the likes of Demon Tweaks....maybe.

Ian - lol - yeah!!!

I'm running a full decat SS with the DP wrapped and I've had no problems with melting my rear bumper, does get a bit discoloured but thats due to the octane booster.
