Default Asus EEEPC - Any feedback from end users?

I am considering getting one of these, due to the minimal moving parts, and also because I am inquisitive.

Any reviews or feedback from any users which have achieved good results from these?

I have seen a few models, the new Atom Acer looks better, with a slightly larger screen & battery life. And a nice curvy look to it.

Any thoughts on these guys?

As you'll know, they come in both 8.9" and 10" screen sizes, with either Windows or Linux

I'm waiting for the 10" to come into stock. PC World have the smaller 8.9" on display in their shops, but I deemed this too small. Of course, I'd never actually BUY mine from PC World - that goes without saying!

I've already got a 15.4" dual core Asus laptop for the bulk of my proper work - this Eee PC is just to take on holiday as its small and light. I wouldn't recommend an Eee PC as your only computer due to their small size.

I have the 701 (8.9" screen) and I love it. Got myself a 3 USB dongle for t'internet. It's spot on. Just going to sort out a car charger.

I have the linux version and it's all good. I wouldn't want XP on it anyway.

The Acer Aspire One A110 looks very nice, but feels a little too light/fragile. It also needs better battery life.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I too had looked at the pre release of the Atom, but questioned the fragility.
I was looking at the 8.9" as the 7" looked too small.
Think Linux is the way to go, have used Mandriva 2008 for a while and love it!

Once again, thanks for taking the time guys
