There was a small feature on scoobies and in particular a lad who lived in a car crime hot spot. In the last 6 weeks he said he had had the same car nicked twice and burnt out second time round, and the scoob he was doing up also got nicked, he had it parked up in a garage declared SORN and with no insurance ...... poor guy was gutted
Then they showed him at a meet with loads of scoobies going on a rolling road (as if he needed reminding) I recognised some cars out of a recent article in Total Impreza especially a blue blob with orange stickers, expect there were others too.

Saw this too. For the life of me I can't fathom why 'the most robbed bloke in Britain' would buy and uninsure one of the most desirable cars to be robbed in Britain
Most cars at that rolling road event appeared quite garish too.

And how refreshing for the scooby owners to be branded 'boy racers' by Jamie Theakston. Gutted for the lad who had his scooby nicked but I cant help but think he's wasting his time driving round looking for it. In hindsight maybe insurance would of been a good idea
I can't believe the bloke would not insure his "pride and joy" living in Basildon....I don't mean to sound harsh to the people of Basildon but it's not the nicest of areas!
I live in Southend which i'm guessing is just as bad if not worse than basildon for car crime and would never dream of not insuring my car even if it was locked away and declared sorn.
Really felt for the guy when he was at the meet though, that must of been torture for him!

Some people are just stupid.
You can get "laid up" insurance for cars kept off the road which is significantlty cheaper than normal insurance.
I have SIX motorbikes in various states of repair with declared total value of £25K under the same policy: £120 a year - it would be stupid not to.

saw it too. i'm sure it's a lapse of judgement he won't make again.
...or maybe he'll move?
he said he'd racked up 3,000 miles in just a few weeks in the transit he bought whilst out looking for his car...i also noticed he was parked up at the mc donalds car park on the a127 (facing the kfc) and watching the cars go past

I also live in basildon and in one of the worst parts, I have both of my RB5's in the garage/lockup about 5 minute walk from my house and I had to leave them uninsured for the last 4 weeks!
One of them has recipts for 40k and you can imagine how I have been feeling for the last 4 weeks! the lockup is on a family members property and has full security alarm system with both cars having trackers but this still has not stopped me thinking about it every 5 minutes!
Cars now insured
