If they kept up the versions then a 2003 would be a version 9 and a 2004 would be a version 10, otherwise they are an MY03/04

For JDM cars;

1999 Ver 5 classic shape
2000 Ver 6 classic shape
2001 Ver 7 Bugeye
2002 Ver 8 Bugeye
2003 Ver 9 Blobeye
2004 Ver10 Blobeye
2005 Ver11 Blobeye
2006 Ver12 Hawkeye
2007 Ver13 Hawkeye
2008 Ver14 Hatchback!

Be careful what you advise a garage as the versions JDM are out of sync with UK cars as the Bugeye Sti did not arrive until 2002 IIRC and that was referred to the Ver7 following on from JDM Ver6 ???

Its not a version, its a model year the versions stopped at 6 for a reason, if you refer to a twin scroll car as a version 8 instead of ordering a part for a twin scroll and if the people you are ordering from are muppets, you will end up with the wrong part hence you just give the model year and part chassis number
