Whats the amount of oil from min to max . I've got subaru manuels etc and it says approx 1 litre .But when mines is at min i put approx 1 pint in and it goes back up to max . Anyone else have this ?

 

Oil levels on these cars are notoriously difficult to get a true reading from. Make sure your engine is stone cold (in the morning after being stood over night) and level. Take the dip stick out and wipe and leave for 5-10 min's before checking. If it is as low as 'Min' then top up with only 1/2 litre and keep checking, a little at a time. It's far worse to overfill than being somewhere between 'Min' and 'Max', just a little under 'Max' is recommended. Once you have done this you will know exactly how much there is between the two.

 

Cheers mate . As the old lump was a oil burner I check at least 2 or 3 times a week and it's always stone cold when checked . It seems that the front of the dip stick tends to read a bit higher then the side with L or F on it . Now the new lump tends to burn off from max to min in bout 500 miles and only top up 500 mls at a time and noticed it goes straight back upto max within that amount. But will keep an eye on it
