Exclamation 92-96MY TMIC UPGRADE OPTIONS QUERY ???

As per title. Which IC of the later models e.g. v.4/5; v.5/6, v.7/8/9 etc. can be utilised as an upgrade on the early 92-96MY cars?

What turbo-to-IC and IC-to throttle body plumbing would be required, or is the stock OEM plumbing of the respective IC the correct stuff to use?

Basically, I need advice on what's required to upgrade to the best (i.e. most efficient/coolest) later-model IC, etc.

Any help is appreciated.

Dont bother!!!
Its a really complicated job to get the later tmic's to fit due to the earlier cars having the phase 1 inlet manifold.

The easiest, cheapest and best option is to get a front mount ic, That way if your wanting to keep increasing the power you wont be limited by a tmic.
The best of the tmic's from the later sti's are limited to 400bhp max, where as the front mount can go upto and over 600bhp depending on what you buy.

Have a word with HARVEY he can supply and fit you a Hybrid fmic for around £450 ish

An Sti TMIC is superior to the WRX/UK turbo one in terms of both flow and cooling capability.

...Well, the STi v.7 anyway ... but it won't fit v.1/2 bays .

- Next best upgrade is the v.1/2 AVO after-market jobbie PLUS its smooth inlet pipe.

- The third - and most cost-effective - option is simply a case of junking my OEM convoluted inlet (14.5 years old and bound split soon, LOL) for the Samco smooth one... or AVO's/MRT's metal one (a lot more cash though).

Question

To remove the v.1/2 IC, do you...

- Loosen off the jubilee clip clamping the IC inlet pipe to the turbo compressor housing outlet...

- Unclip the two jubillees clamping the short IC to throttle body hose...

- Then the 3 IC retaining bracket bolts.

Or are there other fastenings/unions, etc.?
