Default Problem fitting K&N 57I induction kit on non turbo Impreza

I have recently aquired the above kit and used the K&N Instructions to fit the induction kit. I have had no problems fitting it apart from -

- It asked me to remove the air temp sensor from the existing filter box. To my surprise it does not have one? Is this normal? The car ran fine before i fitted it. The car does run fine at low revs but foot down and she sounds a bit like a tractor. I would actually say it runs worse than before i fitted it.

I have checked all the connections for the breathers and i have plumbed it up to the letter.

On the main rigid pipe (off the throttle manifold) i was supposed to refit the air temp sensor, which i dont have, but decided to bung the hole up instead (to avoid drawing in polluted air) I dont know if i should have done this or not?

The car is an 2002 GX 2.0 4WD non turbo version (automatic).

Did subaru move the sensor mid year?

Any assistance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Carl

Hi and welcome

As you haven't had an answer yet have you tried posting on Imprezasport.com (/net/org - I forget which). You may find you get more help there from your fellow non-turbo owners.
