Remap first and foremost if the car has yet to be mapped for UK fuel, mate. JDM 99/00s are configured to run 100 RON IIRC.

Easily done with Ecutek, costs circa £600 and will make sure your engine runs det free on UK fuel. If the car has yet to be remapped suggest you use SUL and octane booster in the meantime.

See what u r saying but I wouldn't remap before doing other mods if planned for near future as will simply need to be remapped again at extra cost.

Mate of mine has been running an import on V-Power for over a year with no remap for reasons that are his. He has had no problems, but all cars are different. You pay your money you take your chances, it's the same when it comes to modifying. All you can do is upgrade parts that might prevent problems if you want to spend the cash, it doesn't mean they will prevent problems.

If the OP plans to do other mods and can afford to do them at the same time then, yes, do the mods, drive off boost to the mapper to have it mapped all in one go, but if it's one or the other then remap first for safety's sake, subsequent remaps are much cheaper than the first.

Don't bother with an induction kit and dump valve; waste of money at this level. Decat and remap will see a good 320bhp and similar torque.
