Guys

exuse my lack of knowledge, but would removing the CATS on a normally aspirated car cause any problems?

The car in question is an M Coupe and I have been warned, by the dealer, that this could cause problems with Engine Management, fuelling etc.

Thanks

Sonu

Well theres normally aspirated engines and extremely trick normally aspirated engines!

Any engine that gives 100bhp/litre like the one in question will be specifically tuned to the restricted, catted exhaust. Remove the restriction and indeed the ECU may well have to be altered to get the best out of it. Will it do any damage otherwise? I couldn't say but I'm sure theres plenty of beemer specialists that would be able to help you.
