Default How will I know if my diff has gone?????

Was doing a track night at Knockhill the other week. It was lashing it down which was extremely good fun but when coming out of the hairpin, the rear offside tyre was on the wet kerb which caused it to spin when I accelerated up the pit straight. When it made contact with the tarmac there was on almighty bang from the rear.

After that, went in to see if anything had snapped, ie prop or drive shaft but they were ok. On going out again and changing down it was a bit notchy but nothing too bad.

Just concerned about this noise and if it may have caused internal damage that i can't see.

Asked Olly Clark at the TA, knockhill at the weekend and he said it was probably the diff hitting off the underside of the car when had that much load on it.
