Hi,
I would like to get a dawes fitted to my UK MY99, std cept for SS d/p, cat s/c, STi bb and ITG, but with all the talk of restrictor sizes I am worried about setting it up properly, especially as I don't have a boost or CO2 guage. Are there any Scooby specialists that can do it for me ? Preferably in the west london / bucks area.

Steve Lawson fitted mine and ScoobyJawa's It only took him 10 or so minutes.

 

A point to note is that although Steve will fit the device, it is down to you to do the bleed(if you want to) and set it up that way you can't point the finger at him if it goes wrong. Bearing in mind how easy it was to fit, just put it on yourself and adjust and then get it on the select monitor at a dealers to see how your doing.

Mine and scotts MY99/00 fuel fine right up to the fuel cut (eh scott )

Thanks chaps, it does sound easy to fit. Only thing is, I don't really want to get my dealer invloved as the car is still under warranty and if I blow it up then they would just tell me to go away quickly...

 

Perhaps PowerStation or Power Engineering would be a better bet? They can do proper setting up and testing on the rolling road, with the Select Monitor plugged in to monitor things like boost and AFR. I'm pondering the idea of doing this myself, but will wait for several months to see if anyone's goes bang first

Richard the only issues I can think of are sticking ***** and excess boost on part throttle if you don't bleed a small turbo. A technical man like yourself shold not be so reluctant if properly researched? The sticky ***** are why you have a fuel cut.

 

Technical yes but only on F1 cars I prefer to let a Scooby expert sort my car out. Also I don't have any way of getting EGT or AFR info, so although I can monitor the boost ok (decent boost gauge) I'd prefer to be certain I'm seeing high enough %CO at all revs and throttle levels.
