Noticed a slight crunch when going into 3rd gear, doesn't happen when I shift into 3rd with a bit motivation but happens when I am shifting slowly or at low revs.

I can feel a noticable crunch and vibration going up the gear stick, have not noticed any issues in any other gears and 3rd gear is holding fine under load but worried it's a sign the gearbox is on it's way out?

Could it just be a case of adjusting the clutch (if thats possible)? I checked the clutch fluid res and it's at the right level.

Forgot to mention car is an MY00 STi Type RA so has the 5 speed quickshift STi box with DCCD control.

 

Have you checked the gearbox oil level? Mine did the same and found it was low on oil, I mean nearly off the stick!! Filled it back up and its been spot on since.
