NOISY FRONT DIFF BETWEEN 2 & 3000 REVS

HORRIBLE RATTLY GRIND WHEN SLOWING DOWN OR AS SOON AS I LET OFF ACCELERATOR BUT ONLY BETWEEN 2000-3000 REVS. DO I NEED A COMPLETE NEW DIFF OR IS IT FIXABLE??
