Cool Another milestone!

About 7 years ago, the odometer in my WRX clicked over 100,000 (about 75,000 miles).

Last weekend, the odometer went from this....

...to this.....

That's around 180,000 real miles!
It may be getting a bit crusty round the edges these days, but it's still fast and reliable.

Not bad for a 15 year old car!

Your maths is way out, son

You have a long way to go before it hits 180k miles.

I predict it may not see that milestone

Your car has done approx 125k miles

Are you sure it's only 15 years old?

ETA: If you think 100k Km = 75k miles
How can 200k Km = 180k miles?

Why didn't you double it = 150k miles

100.000km's is exactly 62.000miles
so 200.000km's is 124.000miles.

When I imported the car in 2000, the speedo was converted to read mph. The odo at the time had 74,000kms, which is about 46,000 miles. Ever since then it has accumulated miles.

The reason why it's now nearly at 180,000 is because the speedo stopped working for a short while last year, and therefore the car didn't clock any miles for a month or so (probably a couple of thousand miles missed). I've done over 125,000 miles in the car!

The car is still pretty much original - original engine, gearbox etc. I had the clutch changed about 18 months ago - and that was probably the original clutch!! Had to change the rear drop links a few years ago (MoT fail), but not much else has needed doing, apart from the fuel pump and the odd sensor.

Long may it continue
