is it not an easy enough job too do yourself? then just get balance n tracking done after. how much is it all costing you for fitting and the kit? thats if you dont mind me asking.

The kit was a baragin from Fleabay M8, the bloke i got them from bought the wrong set and the company he got them from refused to let him return them. So i got em new in the box for £400.

Fitting is around a hour a corner so around £200-£250. Then another £80 for a custom hunter laser geometry set up. I'm considering putting some Noltec adjustable top mounts on but until i speak to Zak i'm unsure if theres any modifications required to fit them

Well the fronts are on!! The rears had the wrong top mounts with them so Mocom are going to order them from Germany for me. Might take a couple of weeks which means the front of the car's on Coilovers and the rears are on OEM Parts.

Strange feeling, if u put it fast into a corner the front remains flat and the rear still pitches like it used to. Best take it easy until the rears go on i think.

Hi Mate

Had mine fitted a few weeks ago and really impressed.
Originally had Eibachs and oe dampers
Done a fair bit with the handling now,but didn't bother with variant 3's as feel its a bit over kill for a road car
pic below should give an idea of height.
They are set about 45mm.

excuse the motor its baked at the minute

Mattpat, looking good, How does it feel to drive compared to the Eibach springs? is it a lot firmer?

Sorry for the Hijack, but its on the same kind of thread .

hi mate

as expected the ride is much firmer but nowhere near as harsh as i expected it to be
the huge improvement in handling far outweighs any issues with the firmer ride.
always felt that after adding whiteline arb's,alk, drop links, lower brace etc that the oe dampers were the weak link especially as the car is now 9 years old.
i get a very little rubbing on the rears as the rims are 8" but really don't want to roll the arches so avoiding big people in the back for the moment.
also got hunter 4 wheel alignment done again so really happy with the overall improvements.
if i was going track it i suppose i would have opted for variant 3's and spent that little extra though

cheers
matt

What do the KW variant 3's offer that the 1's don't?

Daveo - The Variant 1's are height adjustable, so appear to be an ideal road setup. The Variant 3's are Height, Comression & Rebound adjustable, so you can tailor them exactly to your needs and are the ones to go for if you are doing any serious track time.

mattpat,

Thanks for the info, I am still investigating at the moment, I just need to make a decision now. I have just had to replace one strut because it started knocking, so if another one goes, I think I will just take the Jump to KW's.

Cheers.
