I'm about to get me some new coilovers for my Impreza MY00.
The question is AST or KW v3?
I need something that can handle a cold winter with tracdays at the ice in -20C.
Not all coilovers can handle that cold weather.
So wich one will people here choose?

Anyone that have experience with AST or KW in the winter?

 

I have been running AST's for over two years now. I just had them revalved today for much softer road springs, but this was the first time they had been off the car in two years. Upon strip down (they wouldnt of needed this, if it wasnt for the re-valve), there was no wear at all and the tubes were as good as new (including seals).

 

They dont corrode much on the dyno then

Good news though.

Did you think they were too hard on the std springs?

Nobody has answered the actual question.

Do KW make a similar spec to the AST range?

 

KW Variant 3 is tested at the ring - that is good enough IMO to prove that it can cope with all road surfaces, all conditions and all weather.

They also do a race version if super stiff is the way he likes it.

I made my choice though and Exe-tc was the right one for me.
