R`side emmisions check - anyone?

As it seems de-catting is the order of the day (even I`m thinking of completing the job to compliment the Link recently installed) Has anyone been stopped for a roadside emmisions check, or know of any having taken place? What happens if you are, and fail? I really would prefer to stay legal, but the temptation is great!

I believe you can decline to take a roadside test if you state it might damage your car. Anyone confirm this?

I don't think you actually have to give a reason for asking for the test to be deferred, it's your right.
