Default Sti Intercooler Quickie

Quick summary,
2003 wrx car mapped to 281bhp with supporting mods, exhaust, fuel pump etc.

my question is this, can i fit an STI intercooler without the need for a further map?

If so would i see any gains or would it just be better for the general running of the engine? or would i see no benefit at all?

As long as it aint bad for the car io think am going to fit one as it will be needed in the future.

cheers in advance

Intercooler will fit no probs and you wont need a remap for it. People fit these generally for safety to keep the temperatures down...........and they also look much better!

Will reduce intake temperatures in hot weather, allowing the car to drop less power due to the high ambient temperatures.... or squeeze a few more bhp from the RE-re-map....
mine (STI) suffered a significant power loss after about 20 minutes of "spirited" driving, so I've gone for an FMIC on the way to 400 bhp.
