Thumbs up Phew, just finished reading Engine Stage 3

https://www.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-...stage-3-a.html

48 pages non-the-less.

I even felt myself getting excited when the cosworth engine was going in, then felt the disappointment that i would not feel what 500 horses on a 2.5l feels like.

Would be nice if there was some sound clips in there, as the engine note keeps being mentioned. Maybe something from one of the events too. Even just a in-car video/speedo to appreciate more the power.

One other thing lacking i would say in the costs involved. I'm sure discounted/free parts were supplied, but it would be nice to know what this sort of conversion (roughly) costs.

Re-mortgage anyone??!?!?

Thanks for the comments..... especially since the RSI from typing it all has now subsided!

We did think of VIDEO clips, but we never got round to organising camera's to be fitted in-car whilst on track etc. We will endeavour to get that sorted and add these to the Article Section in the near future.

We were going to include the costs, but since a number of the items are down to what you want for your use and target etc, it would be better to discuss your specific requirements direct with one of the project supporters.

When you start to factor in added cost for development, testing and specialised fabrication etc the first time round, the true cost to another customer would be less. Because of this it was decided to keep the actual costs of this project out of the article. Admittedly some items like the ECU, Turbo, FMIC etc etc could of been costed out for information, but since pricing is only current at the time of print, it was decided it would be best for you to discuss your requirements with the supporter direct.

Nothing at this level is cheap unfortunately, and something the article went in to great detail about is there is more to think about than JUST the engine.

According to Powerstation a complete Type 25 engine transplant costs £11495. So, somewhat more than that then!

Just finished it myself. Very, very good read and a real insight into what can be achieved. Excellent.
