Cam seal leaking oil?
Hi all, just taken my car to the garage and its been diagnosed with a cam seal oil leak!? How much is this going to cost to get repaired and what other implications are there towards the condition of the engine overall? Want to get the car running sweet as soon as possible so any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

seal itself a few pounds, labour will be the main cost i would hazard a guess at approx 3-4 hours.
i would definatly get the cambelt changed as it is off and have the tensioners/rollers checked aswell.
Not unless the cam and crank sensor's are coated with oil from the
leaking Cam seal, giving a false trigger - which also means you cam belt is oil contaminated.
Misfire could be anything though.

Yeah im going to have the cam seal and cambelt changed and then if i still have a problem after doing that along with an oil filter change and oil change then ill have to start looking at the coil packs as i have already changed the spark plugs. Does this all sound like im going down the right direction???
Thanks
Thanks
