No, but get it skimmed at the very least.
It can be handy to have one which is already ready if you are in a rush.
It is a good opportunity to go for a new lighter forged flywheel though (£195 instock)

If your happy with the current FW weight, and it doesn't have any significamnt wear and surface cracking (rare) then there is no need to touch it, if it has surface cracking or is worn, then it needs a skim, don't get a light weight FW unless you understand the implications (rougher idle, easier to stall etc)

I had to get a new clutch last week (went for the Exedy 'pink' everyone talks about). Thought I may as well go with a lightened flywheel at the same time and it has to be the best 'mod' I have ever made! I haven't had any probs with hill starts but acceleration in 1st and 2nd is definately sharper!

I run a 4.2kg one on mine and love it
6kg forged flywheels seem to be the most poplular seller, with lots of good feedback
How light to go (if at all) has always been an area of debate on here as far back as I can remember... it's not a mod for people who use a dyno as a benchmark for performance, but a lighter flywheel does work well and you can feel the difference.
